James Beatty

James Beatty, Director of the Road Less Traveled motorcycle documentary, was practically born on the gas tank of his dad's motorcycle. His childhood heroes were motorcycle legends, Bob Hannah, Jeff Ward, and Rick Johnson. His favorite movie; On Any Sunday. It wasn’t long after he started riding motorcycles that he became involved in racing them. But when college became a priority, his time with motorcycles was restricted to summers.

While in college, James found another interest in addition to motorcycles - this time with the video camera. He graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and then spent two years working for an NBC news affiliate. While being part of a news team, a passion began to grow inside of James—a passion to tell stories that inspire and encourage. James has now combined his two passions of off-road motorcycling and story-telling by documenting the Trans-American Trail!

Chris Jones

Chris Jones is a 37 year old motorcyclist from Atlanta, GA now residing in Boulder, CO. His early motorcycle interests had him dragging his knees around some of the best roadracing courses in the Southeast. Only years later when he turned to off-road riding as a training tool did he realize that the dirt was "where it's at".

In only a short time riding off-road Chris has experienced some of the best this world has to offer. His ride across the country on the Trans-America Trail with his wife Spice on two identically prepared motorcycles led to bigger and grander adventures. Chris and Spice went on to ride their steeds through Mexico, Central and South America and celebrated New Years at the bottom of the world, Ushuaia, Argentina. From there Chris experimented with some desert-racing in Baja and Nevada and eventually competed in and finished the legendary Dakar Rally in 2007. Today Chris enjoys getting out and trail-riding with his buddies as much as he can.

Michael Murray

Motorcycles are not just a hobby for Michael Murray, they are his passion... his career... his meditation. An interest with motorcycles began at a very early age while riding on the back of his brother's Honda Trail-70. But the freedom and adventure of motorcycling really took off when Michael purchased his first dual-sport motorcycle and the "adventure-motorcyclist" in him was born. A natural explorer with a passion for travel, Michael explored the high mountain passes of Colorado and the deserts of Utah and beyond with his "GS" bike, while putting more miles on his motorcycle each year than most put on their cars.

As owner of Motorrad Media, a multimedia studio dedicated to the motorcycle community, Michael shares his passion with other motorcyclists by creating Motorcycle Travel DVDs (MotorcycleTravelDVDs.com), and motorcycle web sites and promotional DVDs for motorcycle dealerships. In addition to his own projects, Michael was the cameraman for the Road Less Traveled motorcycle documentary, filming (in Hi-Def) the entire experience of riding the 5,000-mile Trans-America Trail through 10-states in 35-days.

Michael also regularly gives a multimedia presentation on his Trans-America Trail/Road Less Traveled documentary experience.

In addition to plans of producing several more DVDs for MotorcycleTravelDVDs.com, Michael is also working with two independent groups discussing documentaries in opposite ends of the world in both Iceland and Ushuaia, at the southern tip of South America.
