Eric Hougen

ERIC R. HOUGEN, a 41 year old adventure motorcyclist and enthusiast living in Longmont, Colorado. His first motorcycle was a 1977 Honda Z50, which he used to 'tear-up' the streets of Snato Domingo, in the Dominican Republic. In his 31 years of motorcycling, Eric has owned a variety of BMW's, a Honda NX650, KLR 650, Suzuki DR650 and a KTM 640 Adventure, to name a few. His current off-road bikes include a BMW XChallenge, and a Honda XR650R Rallye... and a Triumph Scrambler to cruise the mountain roads. He has ridden extensively in Colorado, including a one-day, 1,000+ mile ride from Nederland, Colorado to Chicago.

His Central and South America motorcycling adventures have taken him to Guatemala, and Baja Mexico. In addition to Eric's travel destinations, he has twice participated in the Nevada Rally Experience, and has had extensive off-road training from professional motorcycle rally racers, including Jimmy Lewis and Scot Harden. In 1992 his passion for motorcycles and his education in apparel production collided and Eric formed Wolfman Motorcycle Luggage, designing and manufacturing some of the best motorcycle luggage in the industry.

When not in his production facility designing the latest bags for the newest bikes, Eric can be found on the local trails, high in the Colorado Rockies.

Jim Ham

Prior to his first dual-sport motorcycle in 2002, 49-year old, Jim Ham had just a few years of motorcycling experience on small dirt bikes riding on local mountain trails in northern Colorado. But soon after putting several thousand miles on his BMW F650/Dakar, Jim was hooked on "Adventure-Riding".

He has since added to his list of adventure rides, and added to his collection of adventure motorcycles. Jim has taken his F650/Dakar to Mexico's Copper Canyon, his BMW 1150/GS to Canada, and his KTM 950 to Baja, Mexico. When Jim's not planning his next adventure, he spends his weekends touring and exploring the canyons and mountains of the Colorado Rockies.

When asked to rate his level of riding skill, Jim modestly answers; "mediocre". When asked to rate his enjoyment level of adventure-riding, Jim enthusiastically answers "Expert!".

Future plans for Jim's adventure-motorcycling include a trip from central Colorado, nearly 3,000-miles to the southern tip of Central America to Panama City.
