Hi. My name is Michael Murray, and I am a "Motorcyclist".

How many of you remember your first motorcycle experience?

I remember mine.

I was about 7 or 8 years old when my older brother got a "trail-bike".

I was fascinated and I would watch him ride up and down our driveway and in our back yard - studying how he rode and how he took the controls.

I waited for that one day when he finally rode up to me, lifted-up the visor of his helmet and said:

"Hey, wanna give it a try? "

And with a big smile, I jumped up - grabbed the handle bars of the trail bike - threw my leg over the seat - gave it some throttle - popped out the clutch… the bike launched out from under me…

...and I was on my butt.

That was was my first motorcycle experience. And I got up, dusted myself off, picked up the bike and got on it again and I rode off. And I loved it.

I knew, in that very moment… that I was a "Motorcyclist".

And as we riders know, it's not all about the "bike"…

It's about the FREEDOM, the ADVENTURE, the EXPLORATION, and the INDEPENDENCE.

It's about the camaraderie with our riding community.

It's about the connection to the environment - out in nature on the open road, or on the trail.

It's about the connection to Man-and-Machine!

Why do I do what I do?...

I'm passionate about riding and I want to share my knowledge and experience with riders like you, to help you be better Motorcyclists.

In addition to my many years of riding, I also have the unique experience of filming a motorcycle documentary, riding my motorcycle 5,000 miles across America on the Trans-Am Trail... riding day-after-day for 35-days on some of the most challenging terrain and riding conditions you can image.

Through high-elevation mountains, with rock-cliffs and steep drop-offs, to single-track, deserts, countless water-crossings, and so much more.

And with all that I've learned, and with input from other experienced riders and world travelers, I've put together a series of "Motorcycle Travel DVDs" to help you take your riding to the next level.

From learning the basics of doing your own Bike-Maintenance, to knowing with confidence how to repair your Flat-Tire when you're out in the middle of nowhere; or tips on selecting your first GPS unit, and how to get the most from it; How to Pack for a long-distance motorcycle trip; How to select the right Gear, Clothing, and Accessories; Important Safety Tips to keep you safe on the road, and Off-Road Riding Basics, for the most fun while you're on the trail. To to more advanced motorcycling tips like how to safely ride in the desert conditions of locations like Moab Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and southern California; how to safely plan and ride across America on the Trans-Am Trail; or ride to further destinations like Alaska, Baja, or down to the tip of South America, and much more.

Motorcycles are not just a hobby for Michael Murray, they are his passion... his career... his meditation. An interest with motorcycles began at a very early age while riding on the back of his brother's Honda Trail-70. But the freedom and adventure of motorcycling really took off when Michael purchased his first dual-sport motorcycle and the "adventure-motorcyclist" in him was born. A natural explorer with a passion for travel, Michael has explored the high mountain passes of Colorado and the deserts of Utah and beyond with his "GS" bike, putting more miles on his motorcycle each year than most put on their cars.

As owner of Motorrad Media, a multimedia studio dedicated to the motorcycle community, Michael shares his passion with other motorcyclists by creating Motorcycle Travel DVDs (MotorcycleTravelDVDs.com), and motorcycle web sites and promotional DVDs for motorcycle dealerships. In addition to his own projects, Michael was the cameraman for the Road Less Traveled motorcycle documentary, filming the entire experience (in Hi-Def) of riding the 5,000-mile Trans-America Trail through 10-states in 35-days, without touching pavement.

Michael also regularly gives a multimedia presentation on his Trans-America Trail/Road Less Traveled documentary experience.

In addition to plans of producing several more DVDs for MotorcycleTravelDVDs.com, Michael is also working with two independent groups discussing documentaries in opposite ends of the world in both Iceland and Ushuaia, at the southern tip of South America.
